I have sleep apnea and my doctor wants to order a CPAP machine for me. I want to get the BEST one out there. Anyone have experience with these?
my machine is called the resmed.. i love it.. it has a nice carrying case and even has the humidifier also.. i have had mine for a yr now and no problems as of yet. my insurance paid for it so didnt cost me anything.. and if i need more masks or hoses they send them to me ups.. the company i got mine from is called. nationwide medical. inc in agoura hill, CA there number i think is 818-338-3500.. good luck and you will sleep much better soon..

My husband needs to replace the gel in his nasal cpap mask, but just the gel piece. If you go to buy them you have to buy the whole nasal piece and that is very expensive.. Any ideas on where to get the gel piece?
Take a look at http://www.cpap.com for parts. They carry all the major brands and I buy just the Gel and/or Flap all the time. I usually go through three Gels before I replace the mask (the original one and two replacements). By then, I need to replace the headgear, Gel and Flap so its cheaper to buy the whole thing. Their prices are pretty good. Another source I use is http://www.cpap-supply.com, prices are even better most of the time.

Mom had a CABG on tuesday morning, was off ventilator now is on BiPAP machine, bad sign? also I am two hours away from her I have to work the next 3 days then am off for 2 weeks for her, I feel guilty like I should be there. Any thoughts
Good sign, they are trying to let her breath on her own as soon as possible. If her progress is bad, they won’t let her have the BiPAP.
I understand how you feel, you can still make it up in the next two weeks. If fact, there is nothing you can do during the surgery and the first few days after surgery, should would be well looked after by the nurses. And now that you have 2 weeks off, the best timing to help her recover ASAP.
