I have used a CPAP with a full-face mask for several years. For no good reason, I quit using it this summer and grew a beard. Every week or so, I trim my beard to 1", so my whiskers range from 1" to about 1-1/4". My CPAP pressure is 14 cmH20.
Last night was the first night I used my CPAP with a beard. It didn’t go so well.
What advice do you have for me?
What is your CPAP pressure?
How long are your whiskers (in inches, please, not "short" or "long").
Thanks!
Your CPAP will leak proportional to how long your whiskers are. This cannot be overcome by increasing the pressure.

How long will it take me to get used to this thing,,I cannot go to sleep with it on. How long? Any suggestions will help.
I am a rrt or sleep tech if you have a full face mask it takes about two weeks try wearing it one hour a night then increasing if after that you don’t get use to it maybe you need a different mask most nasal masks cause problems I recommend a resmed quattro full face mask good luck. Also try no caffeine after 5pm and sleep with your head elevated a bit may help.

yup!
if you have sleep apnea, think you might or snore, see your dr for a sleep study. the cpap and bipap machines are literally life savers. there’s tons of info on it, google it… however, i can tell you from being a respiratory therapist, it will save your life. basically if you airways are staying barely open your stressing your heart kidneys and other vital organs, mostly your heart, it can cause your metabolism to slow down and tons of others medical stuff…
i use nasal pillows, others use masks and full face masks… it all does the tricks, its whatever is comfy for YOU!
