Contour CPAP Pillow

NEW and IMPROVED! Contour CPAP Pillow Finally, a CPAP Pillow Mask sleep aid that addresses comfort and compliance issues for CPAP users The American Sleep Apnea Association identifies CPAP therapy as the most common treatment for sleep apnea. CPAP therapy works by preventing the airway from closing during sleep. It is administered at bedtime through a nasal or facial mask held in place by velcro straps around the patients head. The CPAP Mask is connected by a tube to a small air compressor. The CPAP machine sends air under pressure through the tube and into the mask, where it imparts positive pressure to the upper airways, preventing the tissues in the back of the throat from collapsing during sleep. The redesigned Contour CPAP Pillow (formerly Contour CPAP Multi-Mask Sleep Aid) boasts a more cushioned and supportive molded foam base plus a dual fabric design. The silky, quilted material follows the pillows contours so your CPAP mask and shoulders easily glide over these areas as you move throughout the night, while your head is cushioned by soft velour. This sleep apnea pillow promotes proper support and contact free CPAP use. The pillow cover easily zips off for washing. The pillow is an extremely effective form of treatment when used in compliance with doctors orders. However, non-compliance is a big issue. It has been estimated that over 65% of patients use the machine for a maximum of just 4 hours per night when it should be used for the duration of the patients sleep. Additionally, many patients report using the CPAP for just a few nights out of the week. Discomfort is a major factor contributing to non-compliance. During side sleeping or stomach sleeping, the CPAP mask presses and rubs against the patients face, which leads to discomfort and can also distort the mask, causing leaks and exacerbating the problem of non-compliance. The CPAP Multi Mask Pillow Improves: Mask comfort Freedom of movement during sleep Multi-position sleeping for side, back and

AEIOMed Headrest CPAP Mask with Nasal Seal Kit

AEIOMed Headrest with Nasal Seal Kit – CPAP Mask The AEIOMed Headrest with Nasal Seal Kit is a CPAP mask designed for use with practically any CPAP machine. Essentially this product is considered an interface. Designed by the makers of the AEIOMed Everest ® 2 CPAP Machine, this CPAP mask is a “headpiece” that is worn at the time of use with your CPAP therapy. The AEIOMed Headrest with Nasal Seal Kit CPAP mask is worn on the head and comes with a nasal seal that rests lightly at the opening of the nasal cavity. This CPAP mask touches only at the perimeter; it has a flexible over-molded, stainless steel wire that allows for adjustment. Attaching the nasal seal to the headrest is done with a simple twist. Two seal sizes are packaged in every kit. The AEIOMed Headrest CPAP mask does not sacrifice function for comfort. Three adjustment points make getting a comfortable fit easy. It’s stable, holding the interface securely in place. Unlike other CPAP masks, nothing touches the face but the interface itself. No chafing, redness, pressure sores, discomfort, or instability. Purchase your AEIOMed Headrest with Nasal Seal Kit from ActiveForever today and enjoy the most comfortable CPAP mask available. One customer’s experience with the AEIOMed Headrest with Nasal Seal Kit: “After trying the Headrest with Nasal Seal for the first time I noticed a significant difference in my quality of sleep. The only problem was I woke up an hour earlier then I usually do feeling more rested then I ever have in the past with my old CPAP mask. Some of the key improvements I noticed from the Headrest with Nasal seal compared to any other CPAP mask I have tried are: There are absolutely no leaks as a result I slept so much better then I ever have in the past; I have so much energy it is hard to explain how good I feel. In addition, the no leaks results in a quieter CPAP mask which allows for a better night sleep for the ones around you. The nasal pillows seemed to more

Apnea sufferers on CPAP, mask or nasal pillows? and why? 4

Aug 15, 2009 | CPAP Nasal Pillows

I have just had the sleep study and am going back tonight for the Cpap titration. Which do you prefer, mask or nasal pillows, and why?
Already had tonsils, and adenoids removed as a child. Hoping to find persons that have tried both, and have a preference, to help me in my decision.

I tried the nasal pillows and tossed them after about 5 minutes. I have been on a CPAP for 4 years and use it every night. I have both masks, one covering just my nose, and the full face mask. The full face mask works best for me because I have a deviated septum. Sometimes, when my allergies flare up or I get a head cold, my nose gets plugged so I have to breathe out of my mouth. The nasal mask does not allow you to breathe out of your mouth (put one on and try it and you’ll immediately see why it won’t work). The full face mask allows me to breathe either through my nose or my mouth, and I also can sleep on my side instead of only on my back. I use a ResMed and have only had to replace it once in 4 years. They are durable and perform very well. Hope that helps a little. Good Luck.
