Can sleeping with a CPAP nasal mask affect the jaw and cause TMJ?

I haven’t heard of it directly causing it, but having it could cause stress or clenching of facial muscles, which could lead to it.
You could find a sleep clinic in your area that is familiar with TMJ and talk to them about it.
I typed "CPAP causing TMJ" into Goodsearch and found a few pages of sleep clinics that also treat TMJ.
Until now(your question) I have never heard of the problem from any of the people I know with CPAPs and VPAPs.
