I remember when I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. They put me on this large oxygen machine for about a month and in the end it did more harm than good. I’m a fairly light sleeper. While I love a soft humming noise in the background like the heating system in the winter, I couldn’t stand the lights nor the oxygen cord. Plus…as it turned out, my lack of oxygen came from the dry air in Colorado so during the winter, Vics vapor rub and sometimes vapor machine to keep my sinuses clear and moist.

i wake up not breathing every couple minutes every night but i dont snore at all is that still sleep apnea.. every thing i see about it says snoring… mine is when im trying to fall asleep i get a huge rish over by body similar to one of those falling from the sky dreams where it feels like you just feel on to your bed but then im breathing heavily and sometimes my heart races but once i fall asleep it doesnt happen in the middle of the night it just prolongs me for initially falling asleep

think is u dont know if u have it unless you sleep with someone else.. and u certainly dont have to be grossly overweight to have it either..~

@JLife15 Stop spamming the comments sections of all sleep apnea videos to sell your crappy snoring chin straps.

  7. HuggiMa Says:

Diet plays a huge part in this. Not only will being overweight contribute to sleep apnea, but so will mucous-causing food such as dairy, gluten and sugar, as swelling occurs in the body from these kinds of foods.

I’ve been diagnosed of sleep apnea about a year ago. I considered surgery but I’ve been prescribed to use CPAP masks instead. At first the bulky machine and mask intimidated me but soon I got comfortable. My usual source is cpapman.com and it has never failed me ever since I went to them. I’m so glad that I went ahead with CPAP instead of the surgery since a friend of mine went under the knife but nothing really happened for him.

    @hrbear

So if I lose weight can I cure this problem ?

  15. hrbear Says:

@IdentityHero Unfortunately you are overweight. If 1 pound equals 0,45 Kg and 1 foot equals 0,3 meters then as I see at the metric calculator you are 1,68 meters and 102,1 Kgs :-( I’m 1,73 meters and 85 Kgs. When I reach the 90 Kgs I start to snore badly. My close friend, weights 140 Kgs and he has heavy sleep apnea.

I’m 5’6 and weigh 227 pounds. I was sleeping and felt as if I was chocking tyring to get up fighting for my life. This happened 5 months ago. And happened again 2 weeks ago. Am I obese ?

@Artsie1 No, it happens even at side sleeping position. The only way to stop it is start a diet and loose weight.

  19. Artsie1 Says:

Wait, can this be prevented by simply not sleeping on your back?

@greasyredneck Your palm shakes while choking your cock?

  21. GreatestHooligan Says:

@Marchanoose I feel the same way what you just wrote about apnea, It happened once, i woke up, slept again, (thinking that it won’t happen again) then I was catching my breath again, so I did stand up and walk around, afraid to sleep back again.

  22. ncn8ochaser Says:

@WHITTIERMANDO Whattt?? You too? At least I’m not the only one. Is it kinda like you’re just dozing off and you kinda can feel “something” isn’t right and about the time you feel like you’re drifting off, you get slammed with electricity or something? I can’t explain it but it scares the hell out of me!

  23. WHITTIERMANDO Says:

@ncn8ochaser you too? its freakin scary i thouight i was beinng possesed!

  24. ncn8ochaser Says:

I hate to ask this here, but maybe someone can tell me if I have sleep apnea. But sometimes when I sleep, I’m JOLTED (and I mean, “hit by lightning” kind of jolted) awake. It always scares the shit out of me. Is that from me not breathing? Advice is appreciated!!

UPDATE: Since getting my CPAP about 1 1/2 weeks ago, I’ve been sleeping blissfully except for the occasional discomfort of the nose mask. I did take a nap yesterday for about 2-3 hours in the afternoon without the CPAP and must admit it was a horrible experience. Without the CPAP, I immediately found myself choking from the apnea again and can’t imagine going back to not using a CPAP. The only major negative of the CPAP was the cost… about $1200 for study and CPAP together.
